Kate Wagner, MA, ET/A

There aren't enough words to describe all that encompasses Kate. She is the perfect blend of compassion and kindness mixed in with just the right amount of having high expectations for the kiddos she works with. Her approach to meeting kids where they are and building on that foundation has been transformational for our son. It has indeed been a joy to work with Kate. In the time we have (and will continue to work with her), I have seen immense improvement in my son’s writing skills ( it turns out he has a beautiful way with words and he has realized he has a wonderful way of expressing himself on paper). Kate has been able to draw out of our son his potential to be a great writer and has greatly improved his analytical skills in reading. Our son has never liked writing and was very much opposed to it. Through Kate’s wonderful approach, I feel my son is well prepared to tackle what is to come as he starts high school. As a parent, I am so grateful for all Kate has done; she is someone that we hold in very high regard, and I can't recommend her enough.

There have been MANY days when my child was very resistant to doing school work, and I would just text Kate, 'good luck, he is not in a good mood.' She would calmly state, 'I’ve got it.' The truth is, she really does! She has the patience of a saint and knows how to work with all different types of learners. For parents of children with learning differences: I know how tiring it is to be an advocate for your child, having to oversee and manage all of their homework, keep on top of them so that they finish their work, inspire them, and cheerlead for them in addition to keeping up with the communication between teachers. It’s a lot, to say the very least! What Kate brought to our lives, to my life, was a sense of peace. She is so reassuring and helps alleviate a lot of those burdens."
